The Boston Herald has begun to speculate that Biden’s replacement will not be Michelle Obama but a different former First Lady.
The new worries about Biden come as Hillary Clinton made another surprise public appearance, sparking rumors that she’s keeping her options open.

A number of Democratic consultants are speculating that top party officials could be very quietly looking to remove Biden from the ticket before the convention and find a younger, more dynamic leader to lead the ticket – someone like Michelle Obama. The plan would have to get approval from Democratic elders like Barack Obama.
Clinton is not young but could be a compromise choice to save the day and win a rematch with Trump in November.
The rumor comes in the aftermath of Hillary Clinton making a surprise appearance at the Tony Awards earlier in the week.

Politico wrote that “former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton received a standing ovation Sunday night when she introduced a musical number from “Suffs” at Broadway’s annual Tony Awards.
‘I have stood on a lot of stages, but this is very special,’ Clinton told the surprised audience at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater in New York City, then added: ‘I know a little bit about how hard it is make change.’
Clinton was identified as one of the producers of “Suffs,” a musical written by Shaina Taub that tells the story of Alice Paul (played by Taub) and other suffragists — Clinton referred to them as “American originals” — fighting for the right to vote during Woodrow Wilson’s presidency.
The former secretary of State and U.S. senator from New York also said the show’s message was timely in this presidential election year.
“We need to be reminded about how important it is to vote,'” Clinton told the adoring crowd of liberal theater majors.
Nominating Hillary would likely give Democrats a warm fuzzy feeling. They long refused to accept that Trump beat the former secretary of State in 2016, even going so far as trying to refuse to count the electoral votes following her defeat.
