In the early hours of Tuesday morning, President-elect Trump reportedly launched an attack against The New York Times, demanding that the publication apologize for its coverage of him, which he referred to as “so wrong.”

Maggie Haberman, who is one of the national political correspondents at the New York Times, was explicitly singled out by him.

Haberman has covered Trump for the Times since his initial 2016 campaign and is considered one of the liberal reporters with the best sources inside Trump’s administration.

“Will the failing New York Times apologize to its readers for getting years of “Trump” coverage so wrong. They write such phony “junk,” knowing full well how incorrect it is, only meaning to demean. Magot Hagerman, a third rate writer and fourth rate intellect, writes story after story, always terrible, and yet I almost never speak to her. They do no fact checking, because facts don’t matter to them. I don’t believe I’ve had a legitimately good story in the NYT for years, AND YET I WON, IN RECORD FASHION, THE MOST CONSEQUENTIAL PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IN DECADES. WHERE IS THE APOLOGY?” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

The remark by the president-elect came just a few hours after the Times published an article that detailed an internal investigation that his transition team had done about top Trump aide Boris Epshteyn.

The investigation said that Epshteyn had requested cash from contenders for high Cabinet seats in order to win favor with Trump.

Those charges were refuted by Epshteyn.

A well-known journalist, Haberman is recognized for her reporting on Trump’s return to his days as a real estate entrepreneur in New York. Her byline was included on the story that was published in the Times on Monday.
