In Georgia, a critical battleground state, former President Trump maintains a minor advantage over Vice President Harris, according to a recent survey.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution conducted the new survey, which revealed that Trump had 47 percent support in the state. Harris is in close pursuit, with 43 percent.
Approximately 8% of prospective electors in the Peach State are still uncertain about their candidate, with only two weeks remaining until Election Day.
The outlet observed that the contest, which was already anticipated to be close, has not undergone significant changes since its September poll.
The vice president’s support has decreased by a fraction of a percentage point, while the GOP nominee’s support has remained nearly constant. The newspaper observed that the percentage of undecided electors remained unchanged.
Both campaigns are striving to secure Georgia, which is one of the seven critical battleground states.
It was narrowly awarded to President Biden in 2020, which contributed to his victory in the most recent presidential election.
The outlet also reported that Harris may not have garnered sufficient support from the state’s Black electorate, with only a few days remaining to campaign.
Harris unveiled an economic agenda for Black men earlier this month, and former President Obama encouraged the critical voting cohort to support the vice president. However, it is uncertain whether the effort has had an impact.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, only 75% of Black voters in Georgia intend to vote for Harris, which is significantly lower than the 88 percent that Biden achieved in 2020.
