James Carville, a Democratic strategist, reportedly contended that the “very existence of the United States” is at risk in this presidential election.
He encouraged individuals to caution their Republican acquaintances that they may be jailed if former President Donald Trump returns to the White House.
“One candidate says we should follow the Constitution, we should keep the Constitution, we should try to improve the Constitution, and the other candidate says, I’m going to rip the Constitution up, I don’t care about the Constitution, I don’t care about people’s individual rights, I’m going to arrest political opponents. That is correct, just so you know that. This is not an exaggeration,” he claimed.
Carville dismissed concerns regarding Vice President Kamala Harris and her policies in a video for Politicon, asserting that a vote in this election is a vote for or against the Constitution.
Carville criticized Trump supporters who attribute some of the former president’s statements to his performance, such as his repeated references to the potential for retribution against political opponents in the event that he returns to the White House.
“He is telling you right to your stupid fucking face that he is going to use the military to arrest and suppress his political opponents. But I’m sure that I and everybody else that does this for a living is going to get asked, well, what about the swing voters in such and such a state. You know what they can all swing from? The end of a rope, alright? That’s what they’re coming for.” Carville claimed.
“You better pay attention and every time you have somebody who is a friend of yours, somebody says, well, I’m going to vote for Trump, [you say], just so you know what you’re voting for, do you really want me to go to jail? Because that’s what you’re voting for. He’s telling you.” he concluded.
