Despite the widespread outcry surrounding a recent interview in which former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and his guest, Darryl Cooper, attempted to explain away many of the the brutal and genocidal actions of Adolf Hitler and the Holocaust, Ohio Senator and Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance is standing by Carlson.
A spokesperson for Vance informed Jewish Insider on Thursday that the organization would not be withdrawing from the controversial commentator, nor would it be severing its relationship with him.
“Senator Vance doesn’t believe in guilt-by-association cancel culture, but he obviously does not share the views of the guest interviewed by Tucker Carlson. There are no stronger supporters of our allies in Israel or the Jewish community in America than Senator Vance and President Trump,” the spokesperson said.
During the podcast in question, Cooper went on to argue that Churchill was the primary perpetrator of the Second World War, and also to advocate for a lenient interpretation of the Nazis as well as significantly obscuring the events that transpired during the Holocaust.
