For many Republicans fretting about the 2024 election, it was just what the doctor ordered.

No, it wasn’t in Chicago, where Kamala Harris delivered vacuous convention speech in which she masqueraded as a moderate and pretended she wasn’t currently the vice president. Instead, it was on social media, where Donald Trump appeared to bury the hatchet with one of the most influential governors in one of the most important swing states.

The Washington Examiner reports that former President Donald Trump and Gov. Brian Kemp (R-GA) appear to have put their political differences aside to work together on winning the 2024 presidential election. The two infamously feuded in the aftermath of the 2020 election, particularly after then-candidate Joe Biden won Kemp’s state of Georgia.

The rift continued as they commented against each other in recent months. During an interview with CNN in May, Kemp said he did not vote for Trump in the primary, though he did say he would vote for Trump in the general election. Then, earlier this month, during a campaign rally in Atlanta, Trump made critical comments about the Georgia governor.

However, when the Georgia governor appeared on Sean Hannity’s show on Fox News, Kemp seemed to be the first to extend an olive branch. During his segment, Kemp declared it important for Republicans to be victorious in the election, including Trump.

“We gotta win,” Kemp said to Hannity. “We gotta win from the top of the ticket on down. We need to send Donald Trump back to the White House. We need to retake the Senate. We need to hold the House.”

Trump had previously slammed the Georgia governor, calling him disloyal during at rally in Georgia.

Despite the former president’s attacks, though, Kemp has told other Republicans that he would help Trump win the Peach State.

Senator Lindsey Graham recently revealed that Kemp had pledged his full support to winning in Georgia. Speaking at a fundraiser in Atlanta, Kemp reportedly committed to using his political resources and ground game to help Trump win the state, emphasizing his determination to defeat Vice President Kamala Harris, whom he described as a disaster for Georgia.
