In response to a resurfaced video of Vice President Harris discussing the “climate anxiety” that young people have experienced when contemplating their futures, tech magnate Elon Musk criticized her as a “extinctionist.”
Musk’s response was in response to a video from September 2023, which was shared by former President Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., and Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), his running mate.
“Shamala is an extinctionist. The natural extension of her philosophy would be a de facto holocaust for all of humanity!” Musk wrote on X.

In the video, Harris argued that the significant turnout of youth voters in 2020 was partially due to their awareness of climate change.
Some Republicans and political commentators initially criticized Harris’s comments last year, while some social media users claimed that the economy was the reason they went to the polls.
Musk has long accused Democrats and liberals of being responsible for declining birthrates across the Western World.
