On Sunday, former President Donald Trump claimed that the Republican Party was entitled to be “reimbursed for fraud” after the Democratic Party and media surrogates compelled them to spend millions of dollars campaigning against President Joe Biden, despite the fact that they were aware that he would not be able to serve another four years in office.

Trump made the statement in a Truth Social post several hours after Biden proclaimed his intention to “stand down” from the 2024 presidential election and to instead lend his support and endorsement to his Vice President, Kamala Harris.

“So, we are forced to spend time and money on fighting Crooked Joe Biden, he polls badly after having a terrible debate, and quits the race. Now we have to start all over again. Shouldn’t the Republican Party be reimbursed for fraud in that everybody around Joe, including his doctors and the Fake News Media, knew he was not capable of running for, or being, President? Just askin’?” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account.

The former president had recently posted about the second debate, which was originally scheduled to air on ABC in September. He argued that it should instead be broadcast on Fox News.

While Biden and several influential Democrats, such as former President Bill Clinton and two-time nominee Hillary Clinton, have endorsed Harris, others have expressed their disapproval of the notion that the Democratic National Committee (DNC) could disregard the voters and “anoint” Harris without their consultation.
