Politico Playbook revealed the results of a recent BlueLabs Analytics survey, which is unfavorable to President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee.
The new poll asked 15,000 voters in seven battleground states (Nevada, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia) to cast their hypothetical votes in a race between former President Donald Trump and Biden as well as another Democratic candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris.
The push for Biden to withdraw from the race due to doubts about his suitability for office is still going strong.
The data was gathered through interviews and the polling was conducted between July 5 and July 12. (It was unclear if the interviews took place in person or over the phone.)
The polling findings versus Trump showed that every other Democratic contender performed better than Biden.
In the battleground states, alternative Democratic candidates lead President Biden by an average of three points. Almost all Democrats put to the test do better than the President. Vice President Harris is one example of this; he runs faster than the President.
The four candidates who fared the best were: Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ); Gov. Wes Moore (D) of Maryland; Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) of Pennsylvania; and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) of Michigan.
The survey is released in the midst of rumors that Democrats are still attempting to figure out who will replace Biden on the ticket before November, despite efforts by some to move the nomination process along more quickly in order to make it to the Democratic National Convention the following month.
