On his way to this week’s Republican convention in Milwaukee, the former president Trump on Sunday made some remarks regarding the assassination attempt that occurred against him over the weekend, characterizing it as a “very surreal experience.”

“I’m not supposed to be here. I’m supposed to be dead,” Trump said to reporters.

“The doctor at the hospital said he never saw anything like this. He called it a miracle,” he continued.

“By luck or by God, many people are saying it’s by God I’m still here,” he added.

In addition, the former president praised the Secret Service’s handling of the incident, which happened on Saturday at a political rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, about thirty miles north of Pittsburgh.

“They did a fantastic job. It’s surreal for all of us.” he concluded.

After less than ten minutes of his Saturday speech, there were gunshots, and Trump, the former president, grabbed his neck and ear before falling to the platform.

Trump lifted his fist to the audience and mouthed the word “fight” as Secret Service personnel rushed the stage and forced him to stand.

Trump’s fist pumping in the air was captured by rally photographers, and the image went viral on social media not long after the occurrence.

The photo then went viral with many believing that it will become an indelible part of the historical record.
