Amid mounting worries over the 81-year-old’s health, Democratic strategist James Carville referred to President Joe Biden’s decision to withdraw his reelection campaign as “inevitable.”

“We’re up against a wall, the Democratic Party is, the United States of America [is],” Carville said during a new interview with Chris Cuomo.

“Everybody knows what’s going on here. We’ve all been through it. We’ve seen our parents go through it, our grandparents, our aunts and uncles and neighbors and relatives. This is all a matter of time here,” he continued.

After Biden’s CNN debate with Donald Trump and two subsequent interviews, concerns about his health have grown.

At one point during Monday’s White House press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre faced questions about a Parkinson’s disease physician who was in the country.

Carville, who dismissed Biden’s recent statements to the party that he was staying put, is now certain that the president will finally decide to step aside on his own. Previously, he had stated that another candidate was required to succeed Biden.

“He’s going to come to the conclusion that this is just not a good idea and he’s going to resist it and he’s going to listen to his family,” Carville stated.

The claim that only Biden has the ability to defeat Trump was rejected by the Democratic strategist. Carville mentioned seven Democrats who could currently defeat Trump, but he did not mention any names.

This week, he proposed that Clinton and Barack Obama assist in selecting a new candidate in an opinion piece published in the New York Times.

Carville stated that he wants to fully concentrate on the next move ahead of November since he believes the Democratic Party is currently “dilly-dallying around” with the Biden choice.

“I don’t predict things. I’m just telling you it’s inevitable. He will come to the conclusion. People will get the message to him. He will understand. His family will understand. They’ll pray on it and they’ll make the right decision.” he concluded.
