According to a recent poll, President Biden leads former President Trump by a comfortable margin among voters under the age of thirty.

According to the CBS News/YouGov poll, 61 percent of potential voters under the age of 30 support Biden, while 38 percent back Trump.

These voters are more likely to think abortion, climate change, and racial and diversity problems will influence their vote than those over 30.

Abortion was a big role in 57% of young voters’ votes, followed by climate change (54%), race and diversity (52%), and other issues.

In comparison, half of those aged 30 and up said abortion was a big issue, 37% selected climate change, and 36% chose race and diversity.

The majority of registered voters in this 18-29 age bracket likewise supported Biden’s cancellation of student loans, with 72 percent in favor and 28 percent opposed.

Furthermore, nearly half of registered voters under 30 stated neither candidate understands young people’s interests and concerns, with 26% saying only Biden does and 20% saying only Trump does.

However, just 66% of this demographic stated that they will vote in the 2024 election, compared to 94% of those 65 and older.

From June 17 to 21, 2,460 adults in the United States were polled, with 743 falling between the ages of 18 and 29.

The margin of error for the entire sample is 2.8 percentage points, while the margin of error for the 18-29 age group is 5.2 percent.

Both Biden and Trump have attempted to court young voters as concerns about their age grow. The two oldest major party candidates to compete against each other are Biden, 81, and Trump, 78.
