A day after the Hollywood icon spoke on behalf of the Biden campaign outside the Manhattan courthouse where Trump’s hush money trial is taking place, former President Trump reportedly railed against the liberal actor Robert De Niro early Wednesday morning.
“I never knew how small, both mentally and physically, Wacko Former Actor Robert De Niro was.” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
“Today, De Niro, who suffers from an incurable case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, commonly known in the medical community as TDS, was met, outside the Courthouse, with a force far greater than the Radical Left – MAGA. Robert, whose movies, artistry, and brand have gone WAY DOWN IN VALUE since he entered the political arena at the request of Crooked Joe Biden, looked so pathetic and sad out there. Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio!!!” he continued.
President Biden’s campaign conducted a surprise press conference in lower Manhattan on January 6, 2021, during which the actor Harry Dunn and Capitol Police officers Michael Fanone, who sustained injuries during the Jan. 6, 2021, riots, discussed the hazards of a second Trump presidency.
This was the campaign’s most direct attempt to address Trump’s legal issues.
A group of demonstrators pursued the actor after the press conference concluded, once more chanting and heckling at De Niro.
The park where the press conference was held was also surrounded by a substantial police presence.
The judge who is overseeing the hush money case was referenced by the large group, who chanted, “We love Trump” and “Juan Merchan is corrupt,” echoing Trump’s frequent criticisms of him.
The Manhattan trial commenced and concluded its closing arguments on Tuesday.
Trump is accused of 34 counts of falsifying business records in connection with a hush money payment made to adult film actor Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election cycle in order to prevent her from disclosing information about an alleged past affair. The former president denies the allegations.
The case is currently being presented to the jury for deliberation.
