Joe Biden In Denial About Bad Polling

Getting older is tough, especially for those with memory issues. The Alzheimer’s Society, for example, writes, “It is common for someone living with dementia to deny that they are experiencing issues with their memory or other aspects of cognition, such as having difficulty holding conversations or carrying out daily living tasks.

This could be due to denial or lack of insight. Similar to denial, lack of insight means that a person with dementia is unable to recognize changes in their behavior and personality.”

Those suffering from a mental slowdown may also be seen rejecting things or work that are starting them in the face. For Joe Biden, that appears to be polling numbers.

Axios writes that some Democrats have come to believe that Biden is in “denial” about his terrible polling.

The dismissiveness of the poor polling is sincere, not public spin, according to Democrats who have spoken privately with the president and his team.

That bedrock belief has informed Biden’s largely steady-as-she-goes campaign — even as many Democrats outside the White House are agitating for the campaign to change direction, given that Biden is polling well behind where he was four years ago.

In public and private, Biden has been telling anyone who will listen that he’s gaining ground — and is probably up — on Donald Trump in their rematch from 2020.

“While the press doesn’t write about it, the momentum is clearly in our favor, with the polls moving towards us and away from Trump,” Biden told donors during a West Coast swing last week.

Fox News reported that when the other candidates are included in polling to resemble what the ballot will actually look like, things only get worse for Biden.

“The inclusion of independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. in the polls appears to help Trump. In Arizona, the former president takes 42% of the vote to Biden’s 33% and Kennedy’s 10%, and in Nevada, 41% support Trump, 27% Biden and 12% Kennedy.”

Biden may be in denial about the state of the race, but there’s a reason why the Democrats, despite campaigning on “defending democracy,” have been desperately trying to push Robert Kennedy Jr. off the ballot.
