On Friday in Manhattan, reporters present at the former president’s hush money trial reported that the former, high powered, Trump aide Hope Hicks “broke down” in court, causing a temporary adjournment of proceedings.

Hicks, whom the prosecution summoned to testify at the trial on Friday, provided a lengthy account of her association with Trump spanning from his campaign to the White House.

Since 2022, Hicks claims to have had no direct conversation with the former president. She has held numerous positions in the realm of Trump, including that of director of communications for his White House.

In addition, she ultimately provided testimony to the congressional committee that was conducting an investigation into the Capitol disturbance that occurred on January 6.

As Trump defense attorney Emily Bove began her cross-examination on Friday, following Hicks’s testimony for the prosecution, she “broke down” and the court adjourned for a brief interval.

Hicks elaborated for the prosecution on her tenure during Trump’s inaugural presidential campaign, encompassing the management of critical situations such as the infamous Access Hollywood tape.

The ex-president is charged with over thirty counts of felony offenses. In an effort to allegedly conceal hush money paid to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to cover up an alleged affair, he is accused of falsifying business documents.

Trump has repeatedly denied both the affair and the hush money payment.
