A recent survey, published on Thursday, revealed that President Joe Biden is trailing behind former President Donald Trump by a significant margin in Florida.

This decline in popularity comes after the state Supreme Court’s decision to let an abortion amendment to be included on the November ballot.

According to an Emerson College survey, Trump had the support of 51% of registered Florida voters, while Biden had the support of 38%. The remaining 11% of voters were uncertain.

The survey also revealed that 42% of voters expressed their support for the abortion ballot issue, with 35% of Trump supporters and 58% of Biden backers in favor.

On the other hand, 25% of voters were against it, and 32% were undecided.

On April 1, the state Supreme Court determined that an amendment, which declares that no law can impede, penalize, delay, or limit abortion before viability or when it is deemed necessary to safeguard the patient’s health by their healthcare provider, may be included on the ballot.

This decision was made following a challenge from Republican Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody.

In a memo, Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Biden’s campaign manager, referred to the state as “winnable” following the decision. The state had previously voted Republican in the prior two presidential elections.
