During a recent interview, Vice President Harris expressed agreement with the notion that the upcoming 2024 election in the United States may have significant implications for the future of democracy.
Harris engaged in a conversation with the hosts of the podcast “I’ve Had It,” delving into the remarks made by former President Trump regarding his aspirations of assuming dictatorial powers within the first day of his potential second term.
“I don’t think it’s hyperbolic to say this genuinely could be the last democratic election we ever have,” one of the podcasts’ cohosts remarked.
“You’re right.” Harris said in response.
“No, and I’m going to tell you. As vice president, I’ve now met with over 150 world leaders … in the last three international trips I’ve taken — which are going back to the end of last year through this year — world leaders have come up to me, expressing their real concern about this election,” Harris remarked later in the discussion.
