Opinions on the issue were divided along partisan lines, as a majority of Republicans (75%) and a slight majority of Independents (51%) expressed support for limiting the number. In contrast, only 35% of Democrats agreed with this stance.
Public opinion on the matter of hiring more Border Patrol agents was found to be quite diverse. A significant majority of Americans, 64% to be exact, expressed their support for this idea.
Interestingly, this support was not limited to one political party, as 54% of Democrats, 79% of Republicans, and 56% of Independents all favored the notion.
Increasing the number of immigration judges is a widely favored proposal, backed by a majority of Americans, with both Republicans and Democrats showing strong support.
Opinions on the construction of a wall along the southern border of the United States varied significantly along partisan lines.
Only a small fraction of Democrats, 12%, expressed support for this policy, in stark contrast to the majority of Republicans, 77%, who were in favor. Overall, 42% of Americans held the view that a wall should be built.
