Former President Donald Trump expressed his frustration on Sunday as a Republican lawmaker allegedly revealed intentions to retire early from the House.

This decision adds to a growing trend of departures that is further diminishing the already slim GOP majority following the 2022 election.

A recent post on Trump’s page on Truth Social expressed strong disapproval towards a recent report by the Washington Examiner.

“Never forget our cowards and weaklings! Such a disgrace.” Trump exclaimed in the post.

The report highlighted Rep. Mike Gallagher’s (R-WI) decision to proceed with his plan to step down in April, despite House leadership’s plea for him to stay in office.

In recent months, a number of House members have chosen to leave Congress for a variety of reasons.

While not exclusively Republicans, a significant number of GOP members have either left or revealed their intentions to depart, thereby undermining the leadership’s capacity to advance party-line matters.
