President Biden maintains a slight advantage over former President Trump in a recent national survey, setting the stage for a potential rematch in November.

A recent poll conducted by Reuters/Ipsos revealed that Biden is currently ahead of Trump in terms of support among registered voters, with 39 percent favoring Biden compared to 38 percent for the former president.

The one-week poll, which concluded on Wednesday, also reveals that 12 percent of the respondents expressed uncertainty regarding their voting preferences or indicated that they would not vote, while 11 percent expressed support for an alternative candidate.

Biden and Trump both secured sufficient delegates to become the presumptive nominees for their respective parties on Tuesday.

The Reuters poll revealed that Trump is currently ahead of Biden in seven states that were highly contested during the 2020 election.

According to the poll, 40 percent of registered voters are supporting the former president, while 37 percent are backing Biden.

The poll also revealed that when Robert F. Kennedy Jr. entered the race as a third candidate, 15 percent of registered voters in those states supported him, as reported by the news service.

According to Reuters, the poll revealed that a mere 37 percent of Nikki Haley’s backers expressed their intention to vote for Trump following her withdrawal from the GOP presidential primary.

Around 16 percent expressed their support for Biden, while the majority indicated their preference for another candidate or stated that they would not vote.

The survey gathered data from over 4,000 American adults, including registered voters, during a one-week period in March.

The margin of error for registered voters was 1.8 percentage points, while for all respondents it was 1.7 percentage points.
