Former President Donald Trump raised concerns about a surge in crime by undocumented immigrants, criticizing President Joe Biden’s approach to border security and illegal immigration.
Trump made these remarks before heading to the southern border, amidst a series of arrests of undocumented immigrants for violent offenses.
Trump criticized the Biden administration for the September 2022 release of Jose Ibarra, an undocumented immigrant who was later charged with the murder of 22-year-old Georgia nursing student Laken Riley in a video shared on Truth Social.
“Migrant crime is taking over America. From his very first day, Joe Biden allowed an invasion of our country, resettling dangerous illegal aliens from all over the world into American communities to prey on our people. The latest victim of Joe Biden’s premeditated border invasion is Laken Riley. Last week, Laken went out for her morning jog and never came back home. A Biden migrant has been charged with brutally attacking her, beating her, kidnapping her, and murdering her.” Trump said.
Recently, Riley was discovered deceased following a morning jog on the University of Georgia campus in Athens. Following her disappearance, authorities discovered her remains in a forested location.
After illegally crossing into El Paso, Texas in September 2022, Ibarra was arrested by the police.
However, he was later released by federal authorities due to lack of detention space. He was subsequently arrested in New York for causing harm to a child and was later released without facing any charges.
“This monster never should have been allowed in our country. He was released at crooked Joe’s orders and set loose into our country. How many more innocent victims must be harmed? How much more innocent blood must be spilled until we stop this invasion?” Trump concluded.
