A member of the Turkish parliament tempted fate and took to the podium to deliver an anti-Israel tirade in which he concluded by saying the Jewish nation would “suffer the wrath of Allah.”

In a shocking video, moments after speaking, the politician collapsed on the floor, suffering a heart attack.

Now, the New York Post notes that he’s truly finding out:

Hasan Bitmez, 54, a member of parliament from the opposition Saadet Party, died in Ankara City Hospital, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca told reporters in televised remarks.

He is survived by a wife and child.

Shocking video showed Bitmez collapsing at the podium before the general assembly Tuesday, moments after delivering a fiery speech panning President Tayyip Erdogan’s ruling AK Party over Turkey’s ongoing trade with Israel despite the war with Hamas.

“You allow ships to go to Israel and you shamelessly call it trade… You are Israel’s accomplice,” Bitmez said in his tirade after placing a banner on the podium emblazoned with the words: “Murderer Israel; collaborator AKP.”

Turkey, which is a member of NATO, warned Israel earlier in the month that it would “pay a very heavy price” if it tried to kill Hamas members residing in the country. The head of the Shin Bet security agency said that it was determined to kill terrorist leaders around the world, including “in Lebanon, in Turkey, in Qatar,” according to The Times of Israel.

The newspaper reported that early in November, Turkey recalled its ambassador to Israel for consultations over the war in Gaza, although it said that it was not breaking off diplomatic ties entirely.

The two countries only restored full diplomatic ties in August 2022 after years of deteriorating relations.”
