Fox Host Steve Doocy unsettled his colleagues when he advised Nikki Haley to contemplate a third-party candidacy against Trump and Biden on Tuesday morning during a segment of Fox & Friends. Needless to say, the remarks were not well received.

Fox & Friends was debating recent CNN polls that indicate a substantial lead for former President Donald Trump over President Joe Biden in a number of swing states.

“Given the fact that Trump is so far ahead on the Republican side for the primary, and given the poll we talked about yesterday where Nikki Haley actually trounces in a landslide, Joe Biden, by, what, 17 points? Wouldn’t it be interesting if Donald Trump becomes the nominee? Nikki Haley runs as a third party because then, you know, she — No Labels has said they want a Republican to be the presidential nominee— but can you imagine Nikki and Nikki Haley versus Donald Trump and Joe Biden?” he said.

“It would never happen,” Lawrence Jones said confidently in reply, going on to cite a line from Ronald Regan.

“Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican. “She’s a true Republican, and she would never go against the party,” Jones concluded.

Eventually, the discussion shifted to Trump’s primary opponents, who trail the presumed nominee by a minimum of 40 percentage points.
