Fox News, a major provider of cable news, reportedly came under fire from “The View” co-host Joy Behar for airing clips of President Joe Biden trip, fall, and becoming confused in mid-sentence. She claimed that because of the network’s coverage, people thought he was too elderly for a second term.

Behar made the remarks during the ABC lunchtime talk show’s broadcast on Wednesday in response to concerns from co-host Sunny Hostin, who maintained that Biden should be praised and respected for his age rather than disparaged.

The discussion started with a remark made by Republican presidential candidate and former governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley, who branded the U.S. Senate “the most privileged nursing home in the country” and demanded competency testing for senior legislators.

Hostin, who has regularly criticized Haley, claimed that the former U.N. ambassador’s comments “offended” her.

Hostin continued by stating that some younger candidates were not ready for prime time and that restricting the terms of office of elder politicians based on age or other factors would allow some people to run for office who were unprepared to accomplish the task at hand.

With reference to President Biden in particular, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin argued that age was often a factor that should not be disregarded.

She cited a Wall Street Journal survey in which 73% of respondents expressed concern that Biden was “too old to be president.”

“But isn’t it true that Fox and all those right-wing stations keep showing pictures of him tripping —” Behar said in an apparent attempt to object to the poll’s irrefutable findings.
