The Duchess of Sussex and wife of Prince Harry of the United Kingdom, Meghan Markle, reportedly indicated on Wednesday that she would be open to a discussion with former president Donald Trump.
Trump, the front-runner for the Republican presidential candidacy, has frequently made fun of Markle and Harry’s disregard for their regal obligations and disagreement with the British royal family.
When asked about a potential appearance with Markle and Harry, who openly support left-wing political issues, by conservative pundit Hugh Hewitt, Trump responded that he would “love to debate her.”
“If you want to set it up, let’s set it up. Let’s go do something. I’ll, I’d love to debate her. I would love it. I disagree so much,” Trump said.
During the interview, Trump also blasted Markle for her treatment of the Royal Family.
“I didn’t like the way she dealt with the Queen. I became very friendly with the Queen. She was an incredible woman … but they treated her with great disrespect, and I didn’t like it.” he continued.
After a public disagreement with the Royal Family in which Harry accused his father, now King Charles III, and the British tabloid press of disregarding his interests and pestering his wife, Markle and Harry relocated to Montecito, California, in June 2020.
