Fox News reportedly sponsored a focus group of conservative Wisconsin voters the day after the first Republican Party presidential primary debate to determine who the participants thought gave the best performance.

The focus group ultimately decided that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was the candidate who best represented a “viable alternative” to front-runner Donald Trump.

Tracy, a 46-year-old businessman with a focus on neighborhood concerns, was leaning Prior to the debate, DeSantis claimed that the governor’s 44-year-old performance “solidified” him as the front-runner in her eyes.

Kevin, a student of 21 years old, was similarly leaning toward DeSantis before the debate and stated that he is still leaning toward DeSantis after the debate. Kevin’s main concern was the economy.

Kevin admitted that while he also admired Ramaswamy, he felt that he was too hostile against the opposition and turned off some supporters who would be crucial to his success in the general election.

Chris, a 53-year-old owner of a restaurant whose primary concern was the economy, said before the debate he was leaning toward DeSantis and that after the debate he felt better about DeSantis.

The results come as former President Trump surrendered on Thursday to the Georgia district attorney and had his mugshot taken in a case that may result in significant jail time if he is convicted.
