When at least 1,000 children and teens reportedly descended into Union Square in New York City on Friday afternoon in anticipation of a Playstation giveaway, mass violence reportedly broke out.

A Playstation giveaway that was arranged by a social media influencer drew at least 1,000 children to the neighborhood of Union Square Park, a New York City Police Department reportedly said to Fox News.

On Friday at 2:00 pm, Twitch broadcaster Kai Cenat posted that Union Square Park will have a giveaway around 3:30 pm.

Several people can be seen hurling bottles at police officers in video footage of the event.

The social media influencer can be seen stepping out of a van and rushing in a video that was visible on Cenat’s live Twitch stream just before it was turned off.

People were observed hopping into moving vehicles as they rushed away during the disturbance at Union Square Park, while others were seen banging on the side of a public bus.

Former NYPD inspector and attorney Paul Mauro said to Fox News Digital that Cenat may be held accountable for what transpired in Union Square Park.
