According to the preliminary results of the 2024 election, Democratic senator from Ohio Sherrod Brown is reportedly running within the margin of error against all three of his formally announced Republican rivals.
Brown, the sole statewide elected Democrat in Ohio, is now completing his third term in the upper house.
According to an East Carolina University survey, he is ahead of state senator Matt Dolan (45–44), businessman Bernie Moreno (46–42), and Ohio secretary of state Frank LaRose (44–42).
The poll’s margin of error was four percent for each of the three games.

Between June 21 and 24, East Carolina University conducted a poll of 805 eligible voters, contacting 402 of them by phone and 403 online.
In the GOP primary for the Senate in 2022, Dolan and Moreno both sought to succeed retiring Senator Rob Portman.
While Moreno left the race early, Dolan came in third place, behind JD Vance and Josh Mandel. Dolan is anticipated to spend a significant amount of his personal money over the 2024 cycle.
His family is worth $5.2 billion. In the 2022 election, he spent $10.6 million.
When Brown assumed office in 2007, Ohio had a Democratic governor and a Republican-leaning 11-7 congressional delegation.
Presently, the state is led by a Republican governor, and Republicans presently hold a 10-5 advantage in the delegation.
