It has now been revealed that more than 150 former members of the Trump administration are now reportedly supporting Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ bid to be the Republican Party’s contender for president in 2024.
The alliance, formally known as “The Eight-Year Alliance,” is fast expanding, according to insider sources, and last week saw a jump in support for DeSantis from more than 100 former Trump administration personnel to over 150.
Former Acting Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security Ken Cuccinelli, Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the Office of Legal Counsel Henry Whitaker, Former Chief of Staff to the Attorney General William Levi, Former Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of Policy & Interagency Coordination Carlos Diaz-Rosillo, George Doty, and Christopher Cooke from the White House Council are additional members of the alliance, as confirmed on Wednesday.
The group’s main goal is reportedly to support DeSantis because they believe he has the potential to be a serious contender for two terms as president. Considering the controversial impact his reputation has had on American politics, they also want to prevent former President Donald Trump from instantly becoming a lame-duck president should he win back the White House.
