Following Fox News’ decision to sever connections with conservative superstar Tucker Carlson, NFL star Brett Favre called for a boycott of the outlet on Monday.

In the footage with Kelly, she alleged that Fox wanted to muzzle Carlson, which is why the two parties have been unable to agree on a settlement.

She said that Fox is counting on viewers returning to watch political debates in August or perhaps Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ likely declaration that he is running for president.

Favre’s move comes in the wake of an Axios report that claims that Carlson and his allies are preparing to ‘go to war’ to ensure that his former employer, Fox News, releases him from his contract.

The contract reportedly lasts until January of 2025, meaning that as long as Fox continues to pay Carlson they may theoretically be allowed to keep him from joining any other media competitors during the run up to the 2024 presidential election.

According to the report, Carlson is preparing to launch a media venture of his own, one that could potentially be a major competitor to Fox in the coming years.

According to the Axios report, allies of Carlson are reportedly in the initial stages of preparing to coordinate social media attacks on the network, potentially including boycotts, in order to force the network to release Carlson from his contract.
