After visiting Iowa in January, conservative author and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy reportedly said he is seriously contemplating running for president in 2024.

Ramaswamy met with Iowa farmers and Republican leaders about his best-selling book, which is about recovering national identity and combating awakened ideology.

Ramaswamy sees the growth of “secular religions” like woke ideology as a manifestation of a deeper need for purpose and meaning in people’s lives, a need that is so far not being met.

He thinks that this hunt for purpose is likely preventing America from confronting serious problems like the rise of Communist China and other major national issues.

He believes that most Americans share his idea of revitalizing American unity.

Despite his standing as a political novice in a field anticipated to be dominated by seasoned politicians, his message was well received in Iowa.

His political agenda would include attacking China economically, dismissing “managerial” government personnel, closing down several federal agencies, overhauling the national security state, and opposing affirmative action.

Ramaswamy reportedly plans to fund his campaign with his own money, which is estimated to be over $500 million from his job as an asset manager. Ramaswamy is a first-generation American with a Harvard undergraduate degree and a Yale law degree.
