Former Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi came under fire during a recent Fox Business Segment when former Bush administration speech writer Bill McGern appeared to discuss the ongoing drama over the House speakership with host Jackie DeAngelis.
After briefly discussing the details of the conflict over Kevin McCarthy’s bid for the speakership the two quickly turned to briefly discuss Nancy Pelosi’s own sordid history as speaker.
DeAngelis brought up the infamous episode when Pelosi tore up the text for former President Trump’s state of the union speech right after he had given it.
McGern agreed with DeAngelis’ negative characterization of Pelosi’s behavior, stating that “I think that Nancy Pelosi is kind of the expert on behavior that is embarrassing to the House.”
McGern continued, citing Pelosi’s history of disrespect to GOP leaders in addition to the way she arraigned the January 6th committee.
Pelosi, although she easily won re-election to her San Francisco based House seat, officially handed over leadership to New York Congressman Hakeem Jeffries.
Jeffries was elected Democrat Caucus Chair in the House of Representatives in November 2022, making him the new leader of the House in 2022 and first in line to be Speaker if and when Democrats ever win back control of the chamber.
