Fox News host Will Cain abruptly ended a contentious interview with former Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison on Tuesday after the two repeatedly talked over each other.
Harrison appeared on “The Will Cain Show” for an approximately seven-minute interview that largely focused on the growing influence of democratic socialists within the Democratic Party.
Harrison pushed back against Cain’s questions, emphasizing that he is not affiliated with the Democratic Socialists of America. He argued that both major parties have extreme factions and dismissed the attention surrounding the DSA as largely “media hype.”
The exchange grew increasingly combative when Harrison compared the situation to President Donald Trump’s dinner with Nick Fuentes, whom Harrison described as a white nationalist, antisemite and Holocaust denier.
Cain called the comparison “inflammatory” and argued Harrison needed to distinguish between a dinner guest and a Democratic Senate candidate, an apparent reference to Michigan nominee Abdul El-Sayed.
Harrison then accused the show of inviting him to discuss South Carolina’s Republican primary before devoting the interview to questions about the DSA.
Cain denied knowing that Harrison had been booked under that premise but offered an apology if his staff had given Harrison that impression.
“I’m gonna have to cut you off, Jaime,” Cain warned as the two continued speaking simultaneously.
Cain said the overlapping argument did not serve Harrison, himself or the audience. He then ended the interview and thanked the former DNC chair for his time.
Harrison previously served as chairman of the South Carolina Democratic Party in addition to leading the national party organization.
