Ukraine has now reportedly agreed to a 30 day ceasefire with Russia during talks with the Trump administration in Saudi Arabia.
This decision comes as the U.S. has lifted a freeze on military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine, a move aimed at strengthening Kyiv’s position in the ongoing conflict.
The ceasefire is intended as an interim measure that could be extended if both parties agree. U.S. officials emphasized that Russian cooperation is crucial for achieving lasting peace.
The agreement was reached after extensive talks between Ukrainian representatives and a U.S. delegation led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
During the discussions, Rubio highlighted that the U.S. would resume support for Ukraine, which had been paused due to previous diplomatic tensions.

He expressed hope that Russia would reciprocate the ceasefire offer, framing it as a concrete step toward ending the war.
Both Ukraine and the U.S. plan to establish negotiating teams to pursue a long-term peace agreement that ensures Ukraine’s security.
Additionally, there are discussions about a comprehensive deal for Ukraine to develop its critical mineral resources, which would enhance its economy and support its security needs.
While the ceasefire represents a hopeful development, uncertainty remains regarding Russia’s response.
The international community watches closely as both sides navigate the complexities of achieving a sustainable resolution to the conflict.
