Right-wing New York radio host Sid Rosenberg is taking aim at a planned summit between President Donald Trump and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, urging the president to reconsider meeting “this Jew hater on Yom Kippur.”
In a post on X on Monday morning, ahead of Trump’s trip to New York City for the UN General Assembly, Rosenberg criticized the president for agreeing to sit down with the mayor. He called Mamdani an “anti American piece of sh*t” and a “punk” who “does not deserve the President’s respect.”
“I love @POTUS but meeting with this anti American piece of sh*t hurts our mutual friend [Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman] and all Republicans trying to win midterm elections,” Rosenberg wrote. “This punk does not deserve the President’s respect. Meeting with this Jew hater on Yom Kippur? OMG. Please reconsider Mr. President!”
Rosenberg did not host his morning radio show, Sid & Friends in the Morning on 77 WABC, on Monday in observance of the holiday.
The radio personality has a history of attacking the mayor. Back in July, he raised eyebrows with a rant about Mamdani during an appearance on Fox News.
“This guy is a terrorist. That’s the bottom line, I’ll say it,” Rosenberg said at the time. “You don’t want to say it, I’ll say it. He’s a terrorist, he’s a jihadist.”
Rosenberg went on to say that Mamdani hates the Jewish people and hates America. He also said the mayor hates the Italian, Irish and German people, adding that unless you’re Muslim, Mamdani has “no use for you.” He called the mayor “a horrible person.”
Those remarks prompted Fox host Griff Jenkins to read a statement from the network. It said there are heated feelings around the war, and that during the previous hour, while discussing the role anti-Israel sentiment is playing in the rise of antisemitism, one of the guests labeled Mamdani a “terrorist.” The statement said that word carries an extremely serious meaning, that it should not be used freely, and that it is important to distinguish between strong political criticism and factual allegations.
The Monday meeting will be the first between the two men on the mayor’s turf. Trump and Mamdani met several times at the White House over the past year.
Their first meeting came in November 2025, shortly after Mamdani was elected. It was expected to be contentious, since Trump had repeatedly called the democratic socialist a “communist” while campaigning.
But in an astonishing turn of events, the two have actually expressed great fondness for each other.
