A 25-year-old man named Aliakbar Mohammed Amin was reportedly arrested in Georgia for allegedly sending threatening messages to Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence, and her husband.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced the arrest on April 14, 2025, stating that the threats occurred between March 29 and April 1.

Amin allegedly sent chilling messages, asserting, “You and your family are going to die soon,” and “I will personally do the job if necessary.” He further threatened, “Death to America means death to America literally; Tulsi is living on borrowed time.”

In another message, he specifically targeted Gabbard’s Texas home, declaring it a “legitimate target” that would be attacked at a time chosen by him.

He also ominously warned, “Prepare to die, you, Tulsi, and everyone you hold dear. America will burn.”

Acting U.S. Attorney Richard S. Moultrie, Jr. emphasized that threats against public officials are not to be taken lightly, stating that his office would actively prosecute such violent acts.

The FBI also expressed the seriousness of these threats, with Special Agent Paul Brown remarking, “The FBI sees all threatening communications as a serious federal offense,” pledging to utilize all available resources to ensure that perpetrators are caught and prosecuted.

During the investigation, law enforcement discovered additional disturbing threats made by Amin on social media, including images depicting firearms aimed at photographs of Gabbard and her husband.

A firearm was reportedly recovered during a search warrant executed at Amin’s residence. He now faces charges for transmitting interstate threats to injure, highlighting the serious nature of threats directed towards public officials in the current political climate.
