Jamison Wagner, a 40-year-old man from New Mexico, was reportedly arrested by the FBI in connection with arson attacks targeting a Tesla showroom and the state headquarters of the Republican Party in Albuquerque.

The Justice Department announced the charges on April 14, indicating that Wagner faces serious consequences, including a potential 40-year prison sentence if convicted.

The incidents occurred in February and March of this year. The first attack involved two Tesla vehicles, which were set on fire using a homemade incendiary device.

Investigators found a glass container containing a napalm-like substance inside one of the vehicles.

The surroundings of the showroom were also vandalized with graffiti slandering Tesla and its CEO, Elon Musk, including phrases like “Die Elon” and “Tesla Nazi Inc.”

The second attack took place on March 30, when the GOP headquarters in New Mexico was similarly firebombed. The building was marked with graffiti reading “ICE = KKK.”

Authorities linked Wagner to the incidents through surveillance footage, which matched both his physical appearance and his Hyundai Accent vehicle spotted leaving the GOP headquarters after the attack.

Moreover, the FBI discovered materials for making incendiary devices in Wagner’s home, along with spray paint that matched the vandalism present at the crime scenes.

FBI Director Kash Patel stated that this arrest is part of a broader strategy to address and prosecute those involved in domestic terrorism targeting Tesla facilities across the country.

Attorney General Pam Bondi emphasized that the government will not tolerate acts of violence and that there are clear consequences for such actions.
