On a recent episode of “Fox & Friends,” the hosts reportedly critiqued Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s behavior during a photo op with former President Donald Trump, labeling him as “sassy.”
This commentary followed a tense exchange between Zelensky and Trump, which has garnered significant attention and sparked debate about diplomatic decorum.
Steve Doocy, one of the show’s hosts, remarked on the visible strain in the relationship among Zelensky, Trump, and Vice President JD Vance, noting that Zelensky appeared “tone deaf” for pushing back against the president.
He emphasized that this behavior was unexpected, especially given advice from figures like Lindsey Graham, who had cautioned Zelensky to avoid confrontation.
Lawrence Jones, another host, echoed Doocy’s sentiments, asserting that Zelensky’s attitude was indeed sassy.
“Well, we saw that this relationship right there between the three of them is fractured. And Mr. Zelensky — tone deaf — going in and fighting back, getting sassy with the president.” Doocy said.
“It was sassy! He WAS sassy!” Lawrence Jones said in agreement.
“He got some bad advice from somebody. But it certainly was not the White House. They said Mr. Mr.. Zelensky show up, wear a suit. Lindsey Graham said, ‘Whatever you do, don’t get into an argument.’ So what does Zelensky do? He gets into an argument with Donald Trump and Mr. Vance, and suddenly Mr. Z is looking for plan B.” Doocy added.
Ainsley Earhardt added that Zelensky’s demands for security guarantees were met with frustration from Trump and Vance, who felt he had not adequately expressed gratitude for the support already provided to Ukraine.
“Yeah, he was kicked out of the White House. He said, go home, go packing because we’re not giving you this deal. Because Zelensky wanted security guarantees. And President Trump and J.D. Vance said, look, you have not been grateful. Look at what we’ve done. We’ve sent you weapons. We’ve sent you money, and you have to be grateful.” she said.
The hosts framed the situation as a failure on Zelensky’s part to recognize the diplomatic context, suggesting he had been led astray by poor advice.
This perspective aligns with a broader narrative among most commons sense conservatives who believe Zelensky’s approach was inappropriate and that he should take responsibility for the diplomatic fallout of his unhinged actions.
