Red Seat Ventures is a digital media firm that is responsible for rapidly expanding podcasts and online shows such as those produced by Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Piers Morgan, Eric Bolling, and Bill O’Reilly.
On Monday, Fox Corporation reportedly made the announcement that it has acquired Red Seat Ventures. In the process obtaining some of the very personalities it had previously clashed with.
According to the announcement, which did not specify a purchase price, Red Seat Ventures would continue to operate as a “standalone entity” under the Tubi Medi Group, which is owned by Fox Interactive Media.
Megyn Kelly soon took to X to dispel any rumors that she was somehow back on the payroll of Fox News. Kelly, who had previously worked as a host for Fox News, was on the show.
“To be clear, Red Seat sells ads for our show. They do not “create content” for us as Variety @bristei claim. My producers & I do that. Nor does Red Seat have any ownership in our show which is owned 100% by me. Happy for Fox & Red Seat but it has virtually nothing to do with me.” she stated.
The company provides a variety of services, such as studio and production teams, advertising sales, marketing, branding, and creative input, and it is seeking to grow into the entertainment and sports industries in the near future.
Red Seat is also the owner and operator of CrimeCon, an annual event for people who are interested in true crime, as well as CrimeCruise, which is CrimeCon’s nautical cousin.
As a result of the transaction, there is a possibility that content associated with Red Seat, which is now available on platforms such as YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and other third-party platforms, could also be offered on digital services owned by Fox.
There is also the possibility that existing Fox personalities could capitalize on Red Seat’s resources in order to establish their own web brands.
Fox Corporation did not provide any additional information regarding specific plans.
