Over the weekend, hundreds of gun owners reportedly defied the state’s Democrat governor, Michelle Lujan Grisham, by openly carrying their weapons.
Lujan Grisham had unilaterally decided to suspend the legislation allowing open and concealed carry in the region.
Grisham chose to suspend carry legislation in Albuquerque and the surrounding area for at least 30 days after designating gun violence in the Democrat-controlled state to be a public health emergency on Thursday.
The bill would go into effect right away while California students continued their academic cycle.
It is anticipated to be passed within the next month.

When Grisham acknowledged that she might not prevail in legal challenges brought against the order during a press conference, she essentially confessed that her order might be unlawful.
She acknowledged as well that criminals will not obey her commands.
Even far-left anti-gun activist David Hogg opposed her extraordinary order because of the overwhelming backlash.
On Sunday, gun owners gathered in Old Town Albuquerque to protest the order by openly carrying weapons, including semi-automatic rifles, which are uncommon for Americans to carry in public.
Law enforcement officials failed to carry out Grisham’s order, which included a $5,000 fine for anybody who disobeyed it.
