During Tuesday’s episode of “The View,” presenter Sunny Hostin reportedly drew a striking comparison between the U.S. and Chinese jail systems.

“The View” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin stated earlier in the Tuesday program that if America is not the world’s number one superpower, China would be, blasting China for its appalling human rights record.

“As a woman of color with a six-foot-two black kid in college and a five-foot-seven, five-foot-eight black kid in high school, I don’t see that part of American exceptionalism. I’m sorry. I think this country has a lot of problems that could be solved. Yes, maybe they’re putting Muslims in jail in…China; they’re putting a lot more black people in jail here,” Hostin exclaimed in response.

The Chinese Communist Party has long stated that its re-education camps are voluntary, yet forced labor, sterilization, and murdering of subjugated peoples has been widely condemned as genocide.

This week, Uyghur activists called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate genocide against the ethnic minority group in China, and they asked that Chinese President Xi Jinping be prosecuted for his alleged crimes.

The international court has repeatedly turned down requests to investigate reports of forced relocations within Xinjiang province, arbitrary arrests, detention in concentration camps, medical experimentation, and other human rights violations, including genocide, against the Uyghur ethnic minority group.

The court has stated that it lacks authority to probe the alleged crimes in China since Beijing is not a party to the Rome Statute, which founded the court in 1998.
