Sen. Bernie Moreno’s (R-Ohio) daughter has now reportedly filed a restraining order against her former husband, Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio), accusing the congressman of domestic abuse in court filings.
Miller has strongly denied the allegations.
According to New York Times reporter Annie Karni, Emily Moreno filed the restraining order on Thursday. Karni also shared the legal documents on X.
The filing alleges that Miller engaged in physical abuse during the course of their relationship and after their divorce in 2024.
Among the accusations contained in the restraining order, Emily Moreno claims Miller threw a pot of boiling water on her. She also alleges that she experienced other instances of physical abuse over the past several years.
The allegations were made as part of the legal filing seeking court-ordered protection from her former husband.
Miller has categorically rejected the claims made against him.
The restraining order filing marks the latest legal development involving the former couple, whose marriage ended in divorce in 2024. According to the court filing, the allegations span multiple years and include incidents that Emily Moreno claims occurred both before and after the divorce.
