Veteran broadcaster Piers Morgan appears to be keeping his trademark sense of humor intact after a nasty fall left him hospitalized with a broken femur and in need of major medical care.
Morgan, the host of Uncensored on YouTube, shared an update with his followers on X on Sunday, posting a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed and flashing a thumbs-up. Tubes could be seen running into his nose and wrapped around his body, but Morgan looked unfazed by the ordeal, signaling that his spirits remain high despite the severity of the injury.
In typical fashion, Morgan introduced the situation with a touch of sarcasm, labeling the incident “BREAKING NEWS” before laying out a detailed, nine-step recap explaining how he ended up in the hospital. According to Morgan, the entire episode began when he tripped on a small step inside a London hotel restaurant, a moment he punctuated with a rolling-eyes emoji.
The mishap quickly escalated. Morgan explained that the fall resulted in a fractured femur, an injury he described as so serious that it required him to get a new hip. Despite the gravity of the situation, Morgan’s tone remained light as he walked followers through what comes next.
He said he will be on crutches for the next six weeks and will be unable to do any long-distance travel for at least three months. Even then, Morgan couldn’t resist adding a bit of humor, quipping that the New Year was off to a “cracking start” and jokingly blaming Donald Trump for his misfortune.
The post quickly drew massive attention, racking up 3.7 million views by Sunday afternoon, according to X’s public statistics. Morgan has roughly 8.7 million followers on the platform, and many flooded the replies with well wishes and encouragement. Others, staying in the same irreverent spirit as Morgan himself, cracked jokes about the accident.
The injury comes at the end of a busy stretch for Morgan, who has remained active and outspoken in recent days. Prior to his fall, he confronted Roger Waters over comments the musician made following the death of Ozzy Osbourne. Morgan also hosted episodes examining possible next steps by Trump regarding Iran.
In addition, Morgan recently sat down with Adam Carolla to discuss the anti-ICE protests that have taken place in Minnesota following the shooting death of Renee Good. During that conversation, Carolla criticized protesters, arguing they would be better off staying home rather than interfering with ICE operations.
Carolla also told Morgan he was surprised by the number of women participating in modern protests, claiming that women “weren’t like this in the past” and have since been “weaponized” by liberal media and politicians to stir unrest. The exchange was emblematic of the blunt and controversial discussions that have become a hallmark of Morgan’s show.
Despite the painful injury and hospital stay, there appears to be little chance Morgan will slow down. Even with crutches and travel restrictions ahead, all indications suggest the outspoken host plans to remain on the air, keeping his schedule intact and his commentary as sharp as ever.
