Democrat Senator Raphael Warnock has now officially been declared the winner of the Georgia Senate runoff race, besting his GOP challenger Herschel Walker.

Warnock and Walker were forced into the special runoff election after neither candidate was able to garner over 50 percent of the vote in November’s midterm elections.
The results is another major disappointment for Republicans, who poured a significant amount of money and resources into supporting Walker’s candidacy after an extremely disappointing midterm results saw the party significantly underperform expectations.
Walker had been endorsed by many major figures in the Republican party, including perhaps most notably by former President Trump.
