A ‘Focus on the Family’ location in Colorado Springs was damaged on Thursday after vandals cover their locations sign with graffiti.

The property’s front sign was spray painted with black lettering that read: “Their blood is on your hands. Five lives taken,” in apparent allusion to the previous Saturday’s massacre at Club Q, a prominent LGBT nightclub, which murdered five persons aged 17 to 25.

Focus on the Family is a Christian charity organization that provides a forum for Christians who believed that have been converted away from homosexuality.

Christianity has consistently viewed the practice to be a sin throughout its long history

“We must condemn in the strongest terms possible the taking of innocent life. Our hearts break for those families who have lost loved ones and who are suffering this unimaginable tragedy. We pray for them. And now the work turns to law enforcement who are tasked with investigating and determining the motive behind this senseless violence. We pray for peace and for the welfare of our city. May He show mercy and give wisdom to those impacted and involved.” the statement from the group read.

According to police, a shooter entered Club Q late on the night of Nov. 19 and opened fire, killing five people and wounding 18 others before being apprehended by a handful of clients.

The accused shooter has since been identified as ‘non-binary’ according to newly acquired court records.

Focus on the Family is a Christian organization started in 1977 in California.

It has had its headquarters in Colorado Springs since 1991.

According to the organization’s website, the group stands by a belief that marriage is between a man and a woman.
