Corey Lewandowski, a longtime ally of Donald Trump, has now reportedly returned to the White House to work for his former lover Kristi Noem at the Department of Homeland Security.
The Daily Mail revealed in 2023 that married South Dakota governor Noem, 51, who places a strong emphasis on upholding “family values,” and Trump aide Lewandowski, who is also married, had started having an affair as early as 2019.
In the past, Lewandowski has remained silent and Noem has denied the relationship. Both continue to be wed to their respective spouses.
During the campaign last year, there were rumors that Trump and Lewandowski would reunite, but it now seems the former campaign manager has found a useful position.
Although Lewandowski works for the Noem-run DHS as a “special government employee,” it’s unclear exactly what his responsibilities are.
According to Politico journalist Alex Isenstadt’s book Revenge: The Inside Story of Trump’s Return to Power, Noem’s liaisons with Lewandowski might have prevented her from serving as Trump’s running mate.
He claimed that while Trump was looking for a vice president for a second term, Noem, 53, was still having an affair with 51-year-old Corey Lewandowski, who had managed Trump’s 2016 campaign.
Noem, the sole representative from her state in the US House of Representatives for four terms, was elected governor in 2018 on a platform of preserving the traditional family values that South Dakotans have “long embraced.”
Noem and her husband Bryon, whom she married in 1992, have a son and two daughters.
She has long been associated with Lewandowski, who vigorously pushed for her inclusion on Trump’s ticket.
Lewandowski has never spoken out about his marriage to 9/11 widow Alison Hardy, whom he married in 2005 and has four children with.
He was arrested for assaulting Breitbart News reporter Michelle Fields during a news conference in Florida in the lead-up to the 2016 election, and he allegedly had an affair with campaign press secretary Hope Hicks. Later, the charges were dropped.
