During her speech on Tuesday, Vice President Harris reportedly attempted to instill a sense of optimism in her followers by telling them to maintain their “power” in the face of her defeat on Election Day to President-elect Trump.

It was an excerpt from her address that she gave on Tuesday to the party’s financial committee that was included in the video message. It was during this time that she and her running mate, the Democratic governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, addressed the race. The expenditure of the campaign has come under scrutiny.

Harris expressed her gratitude to the top donors for their support of the ticket, despite the fact that it had been unsuccessful earlier this month.

Also, the vice president mentioned that the campaign was successful in raising close to $1.5 billion throughout the course of its roughly three-month run.

She went on to say that the ticket received contributions from about 8 million donors, with the average donation amounting to $56.

“I just have to remind you: Don’t you ever let anybody take your power from you. You have the same power that you did before Nov. 5, and you have the same purpose that you did, and you have the same ability to engage and inspire,” Harris said.

When Harris accepted her election at Howard University the day after the election, her words were a reiteration of the message she had delivered to her supporters.

While also urging a peaceful transition of power, she urged those who were supporting her at the moment to continue their involvement.

On Tuesday, several members of Harris’s team participated in the podcast titled “Pod Save America,” through which they provided additional insight into the decision-making process of the campaign.

Stephanie Cutter, a senior adviser to the campaign, stated that Harris “wasn’t willing” to publicly break with President Biden. She stated that Harris wanted to avoid the unfavorable headlines in the news that may be caused by such a move.

“She wasn’t willing to, you know, change that precedent for whoever the future president, vice presidential partnership would be, because it would mean a whole, you know, different set of problems, as if we don’t have enough problems in our democracy right now,” Cutter remarked on the podcast.
