The far-left President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, reportedly issued a threat to President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday, in which she blamed the United States for the problems that her country is experiencing.
In the letter, she threatened to put taxes on the United States.
The letter in question was written in reaction to a statement issued by President Trump on Monday, in which he stated that the United States would impose a tax of twenty-five percent on Mexico and Canada unless they prevented illegal immigrants and drugs from entering the United States.
In her letter, the woman, who was 62 years old, made a threat that for every tariff, there will be a response in kind.
She stated that “dialogue is the best path” to resolving the issues that are now being faced by the two countries.
“Even so, it is clear that we must work together to create a new labor mobility model that is necessary for your country, as well as address the root causes that compel families to leave their homes out of necessity,” she claimed. “If even a small percentage of what the United States allocates to war were instead dedicated to building peace and fostering development, it would address the underlying causes of human mobility.” she stated.
In addition to this, she attributed the violence that occurred in her country to the weaponry that originated in the United States.
“We do not produce these weapons, nor do we consume synthetic drugs. Tragically, it is in our country that lives are lost to the violence resulting from meeting the drug demand in yours.” she claimed.
In her statement, she asserted that Mexico had reduced the number of illegal aliens reaching the southern border of the United States by 75%, and that fifty percent of those who do come do so by utilizing the CBP One app, which was developed by the Biden administration.
