In a move that would make her the first CNN anchor to simultaneously hold both high-profile posts, CNN announced on Tuesday that Kaitlan Collins, who now hosts prime-time programming, will also serve as chief White House reporter for the coming second Trump administration.

After becoming CNN’s youngest-ever chief White House correspondent in 2021, Collins is no stranger to the White House beat.

Collins has been with the network for years. Currently, she is preparing to return to cover the upcoming administration of President Trump.

Following her departure from the position in 2022 to become a co-host on the morning show on CNN, she made the shift to prime time in 2023 with the broadcast of The Source with Kaitlan Collins.

Collins has conducted a number of interviews since the launch of The Source. Some of the interviews that have garnered a significant amount of attention include interviews with Secretary Hillary Clinton, Vice President-elect JD Vance, Attorney Marc Agnifilo, Former Attorney General William Barr, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Trump’s criminal defense attorneys, and other candidates for the Republican presidential nomination.

Additionally, Collins served as the moderator for CNN’s live Republican Presidential Town Hall event in May 2023. This event was Collins’s first town hall-style event of the 2024 presidential campaign. Former President Donald Trump was the guest speaker.

Her inclusion on the New Power of New York list was announced by Variety in the year 2023. As a proud graduate of the University of Alabama, Collins is a proud individual.

Collins has repeatedly been criticized by conservatives for her liberal slant in reporting the news.
