Nancy Pelosi had a hard time getting her words out during the same breath that she alleged former President Donald Trump of experiencing “cognitive degeneration.”
The former House Speaker made an appearance on MSNBC on Sunday morning, where she managed to call her own mental acuity into question while attempting to hit out at Trump’s.
“I think what the ex-president just said is further indication of his cognitive degeneration,” she remarked in response to Trump’s Pennsylvania rally the same day.
“Something is very wrong there,” she began before stuttering. Pelosi was able to recover enough to get in another jab at Trump.
“[He’s] diminishing the power of the press which is the guardian of our freedom and our country,” she continued.
“I think people who are thinking of voting for him have to know that he can’t last as president for four years with his brain deteriorating,” Pelosi cautioned.
She also speculated that Vice President Senator JD Vance could end up taking over as the President if Trump can’t complete his term, which she said would be a “horrible thing.”
On Friday, Pelosi reacted to Trump’s assertion that she is the “enemy within” by urging party leaders to concentrate on the election victory.
“We don’t agonize. We organize. We just have to win this election and every day that he [Trump] says something like this in these last days when people are really keenly aware and paying attention works in the favor of Kamala Harris,” she told CNN host Jake Tapper.
“Of those who are breaking from the undecided, are breaking overwhelmingly for her,” Pelosi said about Harris.
She went on to accuse Trump of being “disrespectful” and “unpatriotic,” as she wondered why any American would vote for him.
“I could never understand how anybody would vote for somebody so disrespectful of women, so unpatriotic who speaks with disdain and negativity about John
McCain and George Herbert Walker Bush and our men and women in uniform who’ve given their lives for our country and the rest,” Pelosi hissed.
“I don’t know why anybody would be for him but nonetheless am respectful of the fact that they are voters and they have their right to their opinion.”
